I once watched a family lose an inheritance that should have been theirs, all because a will was never updated to match how the family had actually changed. That loss, and the avoidable planning gap behind it, is what pulled me into this profession. What matters most to me is making sure the people I work with are genuinely looked after, with a plan that holds up when it counts.
Over more than two decades, including years with an independent, fee-only RIA before joining SeaCrest, most of what I do centers on retirement, building the financial and retirement plans that get families ready, and managing model portfolios grounded in sound academic principles, with an eye on both income and growth. My approach is personal and comprehensive. I coordinate wealth, taxes, legal matters, and estate planning into a single plan built around your family's real circumstances, and we revisit it together as life changes. For families who want it, I work in what is often called a fractional family office model, offering the kind of coordinated, high-level planning usually reserved for the ultra-wealthy, without the cost of a full family office.
I grew up in Laurens, South Carolina, and now live in Greenville with my wife, Kristen, our four children in their teens and twenties, and Riley, our Boykin Spaniel, who makes sure we stay on the hiking trails. Faith and community sit at the center of my life, and I stay active serving through my church and other organizations. When I am off the clock, you will find me hiking the mountains of the Carolinas or on the golf course, where I play with a mix of modern clubs and reconditioned gear from the 1950s and 1960s to keep things old school. I spent a decade competing in IRONMAN and worked my way into the top quarter of my age group worldwide, and these days I roast my own coffee beans and build my own wristwatches.
